Genzyme FEU Project, Allston, MA 2011-Present

$400 million Facility & Equipment Upgrade project.  Renovation of Genzyme’s Cerezyme and Fabrazyme production facility while supporting the continuous operations and avoiding any product fabrication interruption.  Renovations included equipment, piping and instrumentation in the Cell Culture Suites, QC and Engineering Labs, Harvest Capture & Clarification, Large Scale Buffer Prep and Media Prep suites.  Direct responsibilities as the owner’s schedule representative managing engineering, procurement, construction, CQV phases including management of the Jacobs Engineering schedule, Turner Construction schedule and creating and managing Genzyme’s commissioning/qualification/validation schedule.  Integration and coordination of all schedules to provide fully integrated project critical path method schedule in Primavera P6 software.  Additional responsibilities included management of progress tracking, performance measurement and earned value management and tracking, set up and management of Contract Manager server, database and software.

SKANSKA USA, Boston, MA

2007-2011

Terminal C, Logan International Airport

$48 million, 211,648-SF expansion and renovation of Terminal C at Logan International Airport in East Boston, Massachusetts including the construction of a relocated and consolidated checkpoint in Terminal C. The project includes additional shell space between the existing building and the new corridor at the second level for future development, relocation of existing tenant offices, reconfiguration of some existing concession areas and the build out of new security checkpoint and shell space over the existing bag room and ramp. Construction of the new work impacting existing ramp activity requires that work be designed and constructed so that all required ramp activity will be maintained with no permanent obstructions to current and future ramp activity.  Scope of work includes replacement of the entire HVAC system in the main ticketing hall. Work that is incidental to the HVAC systems includes the installation of sprinklers, lighting, a new ceiling, and various electrical and telecommunications system and any other related work necessary for a complete installation. Work requires extensive coordination to successfully phase the construction of all affected areas. Role: Schedule Manager

 

Shire Pharmaceutical, Lexington Technical Park, Lexington, MA

Preconstruction planning for Shire’s final phase development of labs and office facilities at their Lexington campus. Created and analyzed schedules and cost projections for the project’s design, construction, commissioning and validation phases. Role: Project Controls Manager

 

Co-Generation Power Plant Expansion, University of Massachusetts Medical School, Worcester, MA

$40 million, 15,000-SF expansion to the existing power plant at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. The existing plant provides steam, chilled water and co-generation electrical power to a 400-bed Level 3 Trauma hospital, the medical school, the Lazare Research Building, the Benedict Medical Office Building and the Advanced Center for Clinical Education and Sciences Building. The plant requires additional steam capacity to meet future demands for both the medical school and the hospital. The major components required to achieve the additional capacity are estimated to be a minimum of 5MW of additional generation and associated components, a minimum of 5000T of chiller capacity and associated cooling towers, the integration of new and existing plant controls, a new control room, power plant building expansion of approximately 15,000-SF and administration building expansion of 1,500-SF. The power plant expansion will be an energy-efficient and environmentally sustainable structure. The project is being designed utilizing BIM. Role: Schedule Manager

 

 

Bristol-Myers Squibb, Large Scale Cell Culture Manufacturing Facility, Devens, MA

$750 million, 325,000-SF manufacturing facility that includes multiple facilities and supporting interconnecting site services, utilities and site improvements. Scope of work includes a 36,000-SF Laboratory, Administrative and Cafeteria building including a data center with 1,500 SF of raised

floor computing area with an installed load of 90 watts per square foot design. The computer area is capable of 150 watts per square feet; a 190,000-SF Manufacturing Facility that includes inoculum prep, seed bioreactors of various scales, cell separation, purification, product fill and final product storage; a 44,000-SF Central Utilities Building (CUB) and a 6,000-SF Hazardous Materials Storage Warehouse. The project utilized BIM for both field coordination and fabrication and received LEED Gold Certification. Role: Project Controls Manager

 

SUFFOLK CONSTRUCTION, Boston, MA  1997-2006

Scheduling Manager2001-2006

Supervised the creation and maintenance of Health Care, Housing, Hospitality, Public Bid and Retail sector project schedules. Tracked, reviewed, analyzed, and reported on schedule trends and market sector issues. Provided claims analysis through “Windows and Time Impact Analysis” processes.  Prepared and forecast Cost to Complete and Earned Value Reports.  Presented, negotiated and defended schedule impact claims for time and financial compensation.

Managed construction on Mill Falls Apartments, a 120-unit, $16M renovation of a former mill in Methuen, MA. Wrote and managed subcontracts and budgets. Ordered and coordinated subcontractors and suppliers. Reviewed and tracked submittals and client selections. Tracked subcontractor work progress. Scheduled inspections, testing, Owner closeout documents and punchlist.

Scheduling Coordinator 1997-2000

Created, managed, and published schedules for projects from proposal stage to tenant fit out. Projects ranged from high-end luxury estates to large scale commercial and light industrial construction. Presented marketing schedules to potential and repeat clients. Participated in defense of scheduling-related subcontractor claims. Calculated projections of potential and realized delay impact schedules. Corporate profile and personal responsibilities included retail, hotel, medical, health, and federal and state supported community housing and public service projects.
